Providers in receipt of Skills Funding Agency funding can access up to 6 days of support offered by lead providers with proven expertise in delivering high quality LLN.  Support will be customised to organisational priorities, with an emphasis on a whole organisation approach and may be offered through consultancy, continuing professional development, webinars, study visits or peer working groups.

Provocatively entitled Adults don’t count?, the aim of this project is to investigate the impact of differing professional development on maths teachers and on attainment for their maths learners working from Entry level to Level 2. 

The project has been delivered in partnership with the Professional Development Centres of the South East, with expert input from Richard Churches (CfBT Education Trust) and Fiona Allan (NCTEM). It has become one of the largest randomised control trials in education aimed at maths teaching and learning in the post 16 sector. 

We have a very interesting result and will be launching the results of this research at a conference on November 17th in Brighton.

The conference will give you the tools you need to combine advanced communication skills with innovative maths pedagogy to improve your maths learners’ attainment.

Functional Writing: A Practical Toolkit  is a one-day course with a variety of planned activities to enable participants to consider present-day approaches to the teaching of writing as well as research regarding what constitutes successful methods, from process writing to use of writing frames, from a focus on grammar to a consideration of different planning techniques.
